This role is a fantastic opportunity to oversee critical banking functions across multiple entities, all within a supportive and flexible working environment.In this Assistant Accountant – Banking role, you will:
- Oversee bank statement processing for four entities, managing a total of 15 accounts, with a particular focus on two core accounts.
- Conduct weekly payment runs, manage transactions between reserve accounts, and handle interest loan payments, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and refunds from local councils.
- Take responsibility for day-to-day cash flow management using Excel, ensuring precise tracking and reporting.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations, promptly resolving any discrepancies.
- Lead month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions, and journal postings.
- Reconcile balance sheets, ensuring that all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
Based in Surrey and requiring you to travel into the office twice a week, this role offers the flexibility to work independently while being part of a team that values high standards and ongoing professional development. You will report to a manager who promotes autonomy but is always available for support and guidance.The ideal candidate will have:
- AAT Level 4 qualification or equivalent experience, with a strong background in banking operations and month-end processes.
- Experience managing bank reconciliations for multiple accounts, ideally with exposure to investment accounts.
- Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, SUMIFs, and filtering.
- Strong written communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
