About the Role

The Group is looking for a motivated and pro-active individual to be part of a team of staff assisting in the delivery of a full range of finance department activities.

As an Assistant Accountant your key duties will include (but not exhaustive);

  • Preparation of monthly control accounts for review by the Finance Manager/Financial Controller
  • Preparation and distribution of monthly budget holder reports
  • Being the first point of contact for finance queries from Subcontractors
  • Assist Management Accounts with a set list of monthly journals
  • Support with the annual audit of the Group’s financial statements
  • Carry out monthly payroll checks and reconciliations

You will also deputise for the Senior Financial Accountant and Senior Management Accountant on occasion.

You will…

have previous experience in a similar role specifically education (FE/HE) and a track record of carrying out same/similar duties.

 You will have English and maths at level 2 (or equivalent) a CCAB (part-qualified) or have a willingness to work towards.

 As an Assistant Accountant it is important that you are able to work in an organised and methodical manner and have a high-degree of integrity and flexibility.

 Department Info

The Assistant Accountant will report to the Senior Financial Accountant and also work closely with other members of the finance department to ensure tasks are completed to agreed timescales.
