We are looking for an exceptional individual with a passion for working in services for people who have a Learning Disability or Autistic people.You will be an experienced leader with a track record of managing a broad portfolio of services and someone who lives the Oxleas values.In return we offer you the opportunity to work in an amazing directorate alongside some skilled and compassionate clinicians and managers.Main duties of the jobAs a senior leader of the Directorate management team, the postholder will lead on the strategic and operational development of all adult ALD and Autism services within Oxleas. Working closely with the service director the postholder will ensure that services are managed safely, effectively and within budget. Central to this post will be the ability to work across all levels of seniority with a range of stakeholders, including statutory and voluntary sector partners, service users and carers.The postholder will also be responsible for ensuring other directorates within Oxleas understand their responsibilities in relation to learning disabilities and Autism, seeking opportunities for better integration of services whenever possible. The postholder will also lead on the strategic direction related to expansion into a Neurodiversity Directorate.About usOxleas offers a wide range of NHS healthcare services to people in community and secure environment settings. Our services include community health care such as district nursing and speech and language therapy, care for people with learning disabilities and mental health care such as psychiatry, nursing and therapies. Our multidisciplinary teams look after people of all ages and we work in close partnership with other parts of the NHS, local councils and the voluntary sector and through our new provider collaboratives. - Provide leadership within the local health economy to improve patient care.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with external stakeholders, including Local Authority, GP groups, ICB Groups, acute care providers and the third sector.
- Ensure effective systems, policies and procedures to manage clinical and non-clinical risks and maintenance of an up-to-date risk register.
- Ensure there are effective systems, practices and skills in place for the recruitment, deployment, supervision, career development, performance management and appraisal of all staff in the directorate.
- Ensure excellent communication systems and necessary relationships are in place so staff in directorate are involved in decision making and informed of same.
- Ensure that there are effective systems in place to support the meaningful involvement of patients and carers in service development and delivery.
