Duties/ResponsibilitiesPlanting, Harvesting, and processing tobacco as well as transplanting, making counts, topping, suckering, weeding, and entering data. General farm duties include mowing grass, cleaning yards, cleaning buildings, painting, and repairing water lines.

Minimum Qualifications 

Position Summary 

Perform general farm maintenance and assist other researchers in peanut and vegetable research. Specific tobacco duties include transplanting, making counts, topping and suckering, weeding, harvesting tobacco leaves, loading and unloading curing barns, weighing cured leaf samples, grinding cured leaf samples and entering data. General farm duties include mowing grass, cleaning yards, cleaning buildings, painting, and repairing water lines.Perform general farm maintenance and assist other researchers in peanut and vegetable research. The majority of the work is outdoors between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Physical requirements include the ability to work outdoors, bending, lifting, digging, and walking. Some activities are performed during inclement weather.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position 

High school diploma is preferred.
