The Team

We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst for the Group Treasury Technology (GTT) IT group in support of the Liquidity & Funding mgmt. businesses.

The Role

With Scotiabank continue to embark on centralize data sourcing for enterprise initiatives and governing data quality, a Technical Product Specialist position within this group is available.

Some of the key accountabilities include:

• Data Infrastructure

• Create, update, and maintain Business Source to Target mapping for complex projects that requires technical knowledge

• Prepare data lineage report, RDARR requirement related documentations, SLA requirement update and Audit artifacts

• Data Analysis

• Profiling source system and documenting the results

• Review the Logical Data Model and understand the target data structure

• Understand data in the Data Warehouse in order to identify data patterns to support adhoc requests from the business

• Conduct gap analysis between current process and target states and propose viable Technology solutions

• Operational Management

• Communicate transformation rules effectively to the development and the quality assurance team

• Keep updated with new technologies and develop best practices

• Relationship Management

• Collaborate with Product Specialists and Developers to understand the business requirements and rules

• Liaise with vendors and work with the IT organization to help translate functional requests into contract specifications, when necessary

What You Will Bring to Succeed

• Working knowledge of agile project management, and risk management preferred.

• Creative, results oriented, highly motivated individual with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply knowledge to independently and effectively resolve complex business problems.

• Good interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, and exercise diplomacy and judgement to effectively work with business users, project team members and technology teams. These skills, along with the incumbent’s good time management and organizational skills, will allow the incumbent to effectively manage small projects while planning and scheduling resources within those projects to optimize productivity.

• Good understanding of current IT practices, agile systems development practices, experience with system analysis and design, programming languages (SQL, Hive, etc.), database technology, keep current with rapidly changing technology trend and able to provide recommendations on future technological directions.

• Exposure to IBM Information Governance Catalog, Infosphere FastTrack or similar tools would be as asset.

• Adaptable, able to operate in dynamic environment.

• Good knowledge of Capital Markets and financial products including retail, reconciliation, as well as Liquidity Risk Reporting preferred.
