Your Role and Responsibilities

As a mid-level Business Analyst, you will develop a deep understanding of your assigned application(s) and related business processes, and will work with government stakeholders to elicit and document requirements. You will facilitate requirements-gathering sessions, conduct research tasks, and share outcomes with stakeholders. You will develop program epics and user stories, and collaborate with other teams to facilitate cross-product functionality. You have a passion for detail and are an excellent written and spoken communicator. You are agile and retrospective, and not afraid to identify what we are doing wrong so we can fix it, and what we are doing right so we can improve upon it.

Skills, Expertise, and Expectations:

  • Ability to collaborate with Product Owners and other business stakeholders and engineers to understand the product vision/roadmap and translate into product backlog items.

  • Ability to create clearly-worded user stories and to verbally communicate functional requirements to various audiences possessing a range of technical and business knowledge.

  • Possesses strong teamwork and communication skills; must be comfortable interacting directly with federal customer stakeholders and technical leadership. leadership, and serving as the voice of the development team/presenting in large virtual meetings.

  • Desire to take ownership, be creative with problem solving, and proactively secure the objectives of the team and program mission.

  • Elicit requirements using requirements sessions, document analysis, surveys, interviews, business process descriptions, use cases, business analysis etc.

  • Document requirements in Jira, breaking them down into epics, user stories and Tasks and reviewing each requirement with the Product Owner and developers to ensure accuracy.

  • Analyze business process flows to develop activity models and detailed requirements.

  • Document discussions during facilitated sessions to capture information.

  • Collaborate with cross-team resources to mitigate dependencies, resolve outstanding questions, and answer questions on business rules impacting other team members.

  • Work with developers to ensure code meets quality expectations of the program.

  • Provide support to end users by reviewing incoming requests, analyzing validity of request, and providing accurate and timely responses after issue mitigation.

  • Provide system training to end users consistent with new development work.

  • Possess excellent communication skills; both verbal and written.

  • 2+ years’ experience developing applications for enterprise business customers.

  • 2+ years’ experience working in an agile development environment, preferably SAFe or Scrum.

  • Actively participate in and contribute to planning, refinement, estimation, design, retrospective, and technical demo meetings.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Years of Experience: 5+ years of relevant professional experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

  • Location: Remote; must be available to work on Eastern time zone schedule Clearance:

  • Residence within the U.S. for three (3) of the past five (5) years, and current residence within the U.S.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD (Public Trust) – existing Public Trust desired

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 2+ years’ experience developing applications for enterprise business customers.

  • 2+ years’ experience working in an agile development environment, preferably SAFe or Scrum.

  • Actively participate in and contribute to planning, refinement, estimation, design, retrospective, and technical demo meetings.

The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
