Minimum Qualifications
-
5 years of experience of equivalent competency in a Business Architect, Business Analyst or other solution delivery role
-
3 years of experience or equivalent competency analyzing and enhancing business capabilities, architecture and processes for a business area
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in information technology, business administration or related field
-
Extensive knowledge of at least one business area and its capabilities
-
Experience influencing, negotiating with and gaining buy-in from stakeholders, including senior leadership
-
Experience using industry-standard process analysis and documentation techniques, such as business process modeling and notation (BPMN), architectural modeling or business capability modeling
-
Experience using industry-standard strategic analysis methods, such as Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT), Five Forces and Balanced Scorecard
-
Ability to train and mentor in a variety of disciplines based on business needs
Preferred Qualifications

Agile certification

Business architecture certification, such as The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) or Certified Business Architect (CBA)

Extensive knowledge of multiple business areas and experience in others

Experience contributing to the definition of business architecture best practices
Job Summary
As a Business Architect, you’ll be a thought leader that aligns business strategy with business capabilities and solution design. You’ll analyze internal and external data to identify transformational, core and maintenance capabilities or processes across functional boundaries. You’ll document business architecture and translate business investment decisions into a capability roadmap that is aligned with near- and long-term business strategies. You’ll contribute to a structured capability model and collaborate with architects across the organization to define best practices and architecture governance.
Responsibilities

Advise on strategies, risks and opportunities for business operations

Analyze current and future business needs, operational enhancements and functional area requirements to identify opportunities for improvement

Contribute to a structured capability model that identifies ownership, systems, services and products

Diagram business architectural specifications, such as process models, value streams and capability models

Execute proof-of-concept business models and generate prototypes

Collaborate with stakeholders to conduct trade-off analyses and inform priority of business requests

Contribute to decision-making on adapt/buy/create solutions

Maintain awareness of broader changes impacting business capabilities, including industry trends and best practices

Collaborate with leadership to support team member onboarding and growth
