Description:

As a Business Architect, you will play a vital role in bridging strategy and execution, playing a vital role in for business transformation. You will be responsible for defining business capability models, mapping value streams, and aligning strategic objectives with tactical demands to drive organizational transformation.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Business Architect COE to establish and mature our Business Architecture practice.

• Strong strategic thinking, analytical, problem-solving and big picture/conceptual skills.

• Develops and implements governance and best practices around business architecture.

• Documents business capability maps and value streams to help articulate strategy and supports the creation and execution of roadmaps.

• Ensures the business and operating models fit together by showing the interdependencies between components, and that the business model story makes sense.

• Assesses near-term and long-term needs, to establish business and IT investment priorities.

• Helps develop a governance plan for ensuring that business architecture is a primary input to the development of other Enterprise Architecture viewpoints such as solutions, information, and technical architecture.

• Participates in the development and application of guiding principles, standards, and minimal viable architectures.

• Synthesize and synergize the work of others, drawing from disciplines such as journey mapping, business analysis, process management, and systems analysis.

• Captures the relationships between organizational hierarchy, business capabilities, business processes, and their enabling business applications.

• Documents and reports the business value provided to our companies from the use of Business Architecture.

• Communicate with all levels of our enterprise.

• Engages with various stakeholders across our businesses and IT, facilitating discussions, driving consensus, and influencing decisions that drive best outcomes.

• Communicates and promotes the value of business architecture to stakeholders, including senior management and decision-makers.

• Understands “business speak” and translates to technical when and where required.

• Drills down by using the “art of asking why,” moving beyond face value, and uncovering the root causes of business issues.

• Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency and remove redundancies which drive value for the business.

• Recognizes and calls out structural issues within the organization, functional interdependencies, and cross-silo redundancies.

• Is organizationally savvy — comfortable, experienced, and accomplished at working with business executives and able to collaborate professionally and diplomatically.

Skill Set Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or technology

• 3+ years of experience working in business or enterprise architecture and/or business analysis.

• Experience working with business process modeling tools.

• Experience facilitating, leading, or being a part of multi-disciplined, high-performance fusion teams.

• Knowledge and understanding of different types of business and operating models.

• Knowledge in all aspects of designing and constructing business capabilities, value streams, business processes, and organizational structures.

• Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts and theories for a variety of projects.

• Preferred: Familiarity with and usage of the BIZBOK Guide in practice

• Preferred: Experience acting as a liaison between Business and IT

• Preferred: Knowledge of construction and trades industries
