The SCHIE Executive Office team is hiring for a Business Manager.

This role will support and drive efficiencies within the SCHIE Financial team and rhythm of business (ROB). The Business Manager role requires someone who has a strategic business mindset and a bias for action; thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; and easily partners successfully with a wide group of stakeholders, from senior leaders to individual contributors and support staff. Successful candidates should have experience working directly with hardware and software engineers and a proven capability for business management, organizational skills, trainable and an ability to execute in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment.    

This Business Manager is responsible for leading business operations in several areas including Learning and Development and University Relations. This role involves strategic planning to align org objectives with org health, partnering with people from various orgs at all levels to implement plans, and instituting business procedures to meet the company’s goals for growth and accelerate employee development, performance, and impact. We are seeking a top talent employee who thrives in a fast-paced tech environment to develop and grow our organization’s capabilities. The ideal candidate will have management and collaboration skills to partner with executive sponsors, business leaders, business managers, communications, HR, Finance, University Relations, and other orgs to create, launch and run the SCHIE objectives. This position will lead the vision of this program with some supervision and create the business rhythms, infrastructure, and partnerships across functions to achieve our goals.

Responsibilities

  • Drive operational Excellence across the organization, planning, implementing, and monitoring projects that improve team efficiency. Leverage AI and technology tools to complete.

  • Lead continuous improvement of business process and systems implementations, manage project governance, including portfolio planning and prioritization. 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and teams to oversee the implementation of strategy execution plans, while ensuring alignment across orgs. This will involve building broad relationships that support activities across the business and communicating key leadership priorities. 

  • Monitor organizational health. This will involve planning and executing training, tracking progress, and ensuring a healthy org. compliance dashboard. 

  • Partner with other stakeholders within the team and wider Azure organization to manage and drive special projects. 

  • Coordinate and support finance rhythm of business (ROB), including finance and business operations reviews, Budget planning and forecasting, cross-organizational budget tracking and business reporting to ensure seamless and efficient org engineering and business operations.

Qualifications

*Required Qualifications:  *

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 4+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years experience working with large global engineering teams

Other:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • MBA concentrating in Finance, Economics or Project Management.

  • Experience in FY Planning, Budgeting, Reporting.

  • Experience in building tools to streamline processes and increase efficiencies.

  • Proven capabilities to drive positive business results through cross-group collaboration and partnerships.

  • Excellent communicator (written and verbal) with ability to create and deliver executive friendly communications on complex solutions.

  • Ability to interact with diverse technical and non-technical groups spanning all organizational levels.

  • Ability to transform complicated data sets into clear stories that are relevant to the business need.

  • Proven leadership with complex, cross functional projects including setting scope, reaching consensus, execution, and presenting results.

  • Be proactive in identifying process challenges and proactively driving improvements.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across internal organizations to drive the right decisions for Microsoft.

  • Work independently to balance multiple tasks and competing priorities simultaneously.

  • Effectively lead cross-organizational meetings to lead teams to consensus and/or decisions to maintain project schedules.

Business Management IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 – $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 – $200,500 per year.
