The Role: Customer Service Representative – Call Centre

GFL Environmental is looking for a Customer Service Representative to join our Call Centre Team in Coquitlam, British Columbia. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, assisting with account management, handling inquiries, and promoting GFL’s waste services to businesses and industrial establishments.

You will be expected to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while managing both inbound and outbound customer calls, as well as assisting outside sales representatives with appointment setting, customer tracking, and quotations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Call Centre Service Representative, your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Customer Interaction: Handle incoming calls and emails from clients, providing efficient, solutions-oriented responses to inquiries.
  • Multi-tasking: Navigate through multiple phone systems and email requests while ensuring top-notch customer service.
  • First Call Resolution: Resolve customer issues and inquiries on the first contact by providing accurate information and troubleshooting.
  • This may include:
  • Following up with customers through calls and emails.
  • Processing payment requests and account changes.
  • Setting appointments and handling inquiries for sales representatives.
  • Sales Support: Assist the sales team by tracking customers, setting appointments, and providing quotations.
  • Company Advocacy: Represent GFL Environmental positively by fostering strong relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Additional Duties: Complete any other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

We’re looking for candidates who have the following:

  • Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in customer service, business, or related fields is an asset.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a customer service or call center role is preferred.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong multitasking abilities and ability to navigate through multiple systems at once.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Professional phone etiquette with the ability to manage difficult situations with tact and patience.
  • Experience with CRM systems and call center software is an asset.
  • Personal Qualities:
  • Friendly, positive attitude with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

Work Schedule

  • Full-Time Position: This is a full-time position with scheduled shifts during business hours, but flexibility will be required as the schedule may vary based on operational needs.
  • Shift Details:
  • Shifts typically range from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday with some Saturdays as business needs require
  • You may also be required to work on weekends or evenings on occasion, depending on customer demands or special projects.
  • Advanced notice will be given for any changes to the shift schedule.
  • Flexibility in start and end times may also be required on certain days.
