Who You’ll Work With
You will be based in Osaka or Tokyo and will be part of our Client Capabilities Network (CCN) for the Telecommunications, Media and Technology (TMT) practice.
You will be part of a global team of 70+ colleagues covering the Americas, Europe as well as Asia across 20 different offices. Colleagues in our global Client Capabilities Network deliver distinctive client impact through assets and expertise and are driven by a culture of innovation. What You’ll Do
You will help McKinsey consultants and clients by collecting, summarizing, analyzing, and synthesizing information that helps solve specific business problems – with a focus on the Telecommunications domain.
You will conduct primary and secondary research, leveraging proprietary and third-party data sources and manage day-to-day workflow. You will prepare findings in the form of client-ready end products which could be PowerPoint presentations and/or Excel models. You will collaborate with our global team to share and build knowledge, best practices and relevant new ideas. You will codify knowledge and help support the continuous improvement of our knowledge operations, innovating firm knowledge and knowledge delivery through special projects (both with client teams and on a stand-alone basis). Over time, you will develop expertise in a specific area within the Telecommunications sector and leverage knowledge and expertise on consulting and knowledge projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, social sciences, or engineering; Master’s degree is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills
- Working experience in the Telecommunications industry or research would be an advantage
- Good understanding of financial, economic, and general business concepts and terminology
- Good time-management skills and a flexible attitude, with ability to meet tight deadlines and handle simultaneous work streams
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Willing to work in a highly demanding and result-oriented team environment
- Professional attitude and service orientation
- Entrepreneurial and a self-starter who enjoys the challenges and rewards of research work in a dynamic and changing environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese
- Eligibility to work in Tokyo, Japan
