Chief Network Officer

As Chief Network Officer and Network Group President, this role is accountable for leading the strategy, development and oversight of VSP Vision’s Network Group businesses. The role is pivotal to ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to VSP Vision members and consumers.

Ensure Network Group performance by managing profit and loss (P&L) for owned network businesses – practices, clinics, and retail stores, overseeing strategy, growth plans, and cost-effective financial strategies to optimize financial performance and deliver a consumer-centric patient experience. 

Develop and execute a comprehensive Network Pillar strategy aligned with the organization’s healthcare delivery goals and long-term enterprise goals.

Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing management of healthcare providers across the Network Group and ensuring a diverse and high-performing network.

Drive the strategy and initiatives that span across the Network Group businesses and Network Pillar including Visionworks, VSP Ventures, Eyeconic, and Onsite Clinics. 

Lead the M&A and growth strategies across the Network Group businesses to expand and optimize the national footprint of locations to meet the needs of consumers, clients, and patient segments. 

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as Operations, Finance, and Quality Management to ensure seamless integration of Network Pillar strategies with overall organizational objectives.

Lead efforts to identify market opportunities and develop a focused, segment-specific actionable insights; responsible for setting key performance indicator metrics, forecasting, and reporting on progress toward achieving goals.

Analyze provider and network performance data, identify areas for improvement, and implement initiatives to enhance the Network Group Businesses and the quality and efficiency of healthcare services.

Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging models of care delivery to inform and adapt network strategies accordingly.

Foster positive relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, professional organizations, industry and strategic partners, and community partners.

Monitor and manage provider budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with organizational financial goals.

Lead a team of professionals dedicated to network pillar management, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience

Ten or more years of experience with clear progression to senior leadership/management roles, leading and motivating cross-functional interdisciplinary teams to achieve strategic goals.

Deep relevant executive-level leadership as Chief/President or equivalent with significant experience as both a strategic leader (financial, operational, strategic oversight) and in execution/implementation.

Demonstrated acumen in scaling entrepreneurial and high-growth organizations. Proven ability to be an effective strategist and outstanding operational leader for enterprise-wide transformation. Lead/drive change. Monitor/measure return on major investments and role model sound fiduciary oversight.

Nimble and agile; can operate creatively and effectively in a resource-constrained environment and has demonstrable capabilities in leading change. 

Demonstrated track record in successfully devising and implementing systems and processes that enable significant growth and operational effectiveness. Heighten the team’s capability to bring fact-based analysis and actionable insights to internal decision-makers.

Excellent people management skills and ability to lead large and globally distributed teams effectively, including building bench strength and succession planning at executive levels. 

Highly collaborative role model, effective in building relationships, influencing and instilling confidence in the board, management, and staff.

Ability to drive initiatives forward to a successful conclusion. Leads decisively. Highly accountable, holds others accountable to drive positive results.

Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of job duties.
