Civil/Structural Engineer – Telecom

Overview

Kimley-Horn’s Akron, Ohio (OH) office is seeking a Civil/Structural Analyst with 1+ years of experience to join their Telecom team.

Responsibilities

  • Production, Training and Task Management of engineering deliverables within the telecom practice.
  • Creating construction drawings for various telecom facilities including but not limited to Macro Sites, Small Cell Sites, In-Building Antenna Systems and Fiber routes.
  • Performing quality control of production documents produced by junior team members.
  • Performing site walks and/or fielding tasks to collect site data to be utilized for production.
  • Maintaining templates and develop project tools to assist global team in production.
  • Coordinating with internal and external subcontractors, clients and co-workers.
  • Coordinating with jurisdictions, fiber providers, power providers and various authorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters from an ABET accredited university in the field of Civil Engineering
  • 1+ years experience with a civil engineering design firm
  • “Engineer-In-Training” or “Engineering Intern” certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Working knowledge of RISA-3D preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
