LOCATION: Glasgow AirportPAY RATE: £12.21 per hourSHIFT PATTERN & WORKING TIMES: Week 1 3/7 Week 2 4/7, 30 hours per weekROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSEThe Car Park Cleaning Operative will provide a comprehensive service ensuring a high-quality standard is delivered to the client. You will represent ABM as part of an onsite team providing periodic and deep cleaning services and other ad hoc tasks whilst maintaining a professional image to our staff, suppliers, clients and our clients’ customers at all times. You are responsible for general upkeep for and appearance of buildings and surrounding areas, ensuring they are maintained in accordance with ABM and our clients’ required standards. Reporting to ABM nominated supervisors and managers you will cultivate relationships with our clients and managers alongside staff, to ensure an efficient and consistent level of operational performance.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESTo carry out car park cleaning tasks, maintaining the cleanliness of the fabric of the building, inside and out.These will include but not be limited to high level dusting/cleaning and vacuuming, deep cleaning of floor, windows, toilets, car parks, steelwork, matting, external canopies, windows, walls, paving, gum removal, jet washing, steam cleaning, etc.

• Any other reasonable associated tasks as directed by the ABM nominated supervisors and managers.

• Ensure work area is clean, well maintained and all equipment is secure.

• To be flexible and responsive to changing priorities fulfilling requirements.

• To be knowledgeable of all cleaning related tasks, so that at the commencement of the shift, current scheduled activity is supported, without the need for specific direction.

• Prioritise jobs according to urgency allowing duties to be completed with any time allocations to the necessary quality, planning around periodic tasks.

• Communicate regularly with ABM nominated supervisors and managers to obtain feedback on quality, service and care.

• Undertake training as necessary in line with the development of the post.

• To achieve and demonstrate agreed standards of personal and professional development within agreed timescales.

• To contribute positively to the effectiveness and efficiency of the teams in which you work.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEA reliable and flexible approach, as some tasks can only be carried out in daylight or at night.

• Ensure all health and safety procedures are applied in complying with legislation and company policy and procedure.

• An ability to work under pressure.

• Able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Essential requirements:

• Demonstrate initiative in the absence of supervision, accepting responsibility.

• Knowledge of safety regulations, building codes and other compliance policies.

• Knowledge of cleaning methods or a willingness to learn.

• High attention to detail.

• This is an active role that requires you to be physically fit.

• Executing duties in a manner which minimises the incidents and accidents within your Department.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
