Invest in us and we’ll invest in you!Job DescriptionThe Cloud Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our clients Azure cloud infrastructure and services. You will work closely with your team to ensure the successful deployment, integration, and optimisation of Azure-based solutions. The Cloud Architect will provide technical expertise, guidance and lead on strategic initiatives and ensure scalability, security, and cost-efficiency in Azure environments.Key Responsibilities and Key Deliverables applicable to this role:
- Design and implement Azure cloud architecture solutions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define Azure cloud strategies and roadmaps that align with organizational goals and in line with the organisation’s technology and governance strategies, policies and standards.
- Evaluate and recommend Azure services, platforms, and technologies based on their capabilities, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and enforce Azure cloud architecture standards, policies, and best practices.
- Oversee the implementation and migration of applications, data, and services to Azure.
- Collaborate in the design of solutions which incorporate off premise cloud based platform interoperability with local on premise systems.
- Conduct system performance and capacity analysis to optimize resource utilization and ensure high availability in Azure environments.
- Monitor Azure environments and proactively identify and resolve performance, security, and reliability issues.
- Implement and manage Azure security measures, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability assessments.
- Stay updated with emerging Azure cloud technologies and public sectors trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Enterprise Architecture and IT Operations to provide technical guidance and support for Azure-related projects.
QualificationsThe following experience, competencies and skillsets are applicable to this role:
- In-depth knowledge of Azure cloud platforms, including Azure Resource Manager, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Service, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, and Azure Security.
- Strong understanding of Azure architecture and services, such as Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Active Directory.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and configuration management.
- Familiarity with Azure monitoring and management tools, such as Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and Azure Security Center.
- Knowledge of Azure governance frameworks, compliance standards, and best practices for security and cost optimization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in Azure environments.
