Job description

Midleton Park Hotel, part of the Talbot Collection, are currently recruiting for a Commis Chef to join our team. This is a full-time position. The Commis Chef is responsible for the preparation and service of food and for maintaining a high level of operational hygiene in all kitchen areas in compliance with Hotel and hygiene regulations. The Commis Chef will report to the Head Chef and Senior Chefs.The Talbot Collection are one of the Best Places to Work in Hospitality 2024 as awarded by the Great Place to Work. • The preparation and service of food.
• Carrying out cleaning duties as outlined in the cleaning schedule and completing daily/weekly cleaning checklists for all cleaning tasks performed.
• Cleaning of pots, pans, equipment etc. as required and ensure they are stored correctly and neatly.
• Emptying of bins when full or as requested.
• Thorough deep cleaning as per schedule of kitchen/larder areas, equipment and storage areas.
• Maintaining storage area for mops, brushes, detergents.
• Reporting damaged/defective equipment to senior chef on duty.
• To carry out our customer relations policy ensuring that we maintain 4-Star standards at all times.

The successful candidate must have:

• Have a passion for quality and presentation;
• Be HACCP trained and hygiene focused;
• Have a professional appearance & a positive work attitude;
• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment;
• Be flexible and available to work varying shifts, 5 out of 7 days, to include weekends.
