Tasks:
Training:
- In coordination with the HR department, take the lead in assessing and defining compliance and safeguarding related training needs (Code of Conduct, Safeguarding and so on).
- Plan and conduct training for national and international staff.
Spot-checks, screening and controls:
- In coordinaiton with the relevant Head of Department, conduct spot-checks and desk reviews on supply chain management, human resources management, financial management, and program management processes.
- Prepare reports on the findings for the Country Director and the relevant Head of Department.
- Suggest and agree on the action plans with the relevant Head of Department.
- Monitor the implementation of the agreed action under the supervision of the Country Director.
- Periodically check the archives of physical and digital documentation for each department and project. Prepare short reports on the findings for the Country Director, relevant managers and Heads of Departments.
- Monitor the implementation of the fixes by the responsible department.
Safeguarding:
- Assume the overall responsibility in the implementation of the safeguarding workplan in coordination with the relevant departments.
- Share reports on the implementation of the safeguarding workplan with the Country Director and the safeguarding expert at the Head Office level.
- Take the lead in training and awareness raising on safeguarding for national, international staff and partners in coordination with relevant departments.
- Manage and support safeguarding volunteers in their safeguarding related responsibilities. Conduct refreshers for safeguarding volunteers. Act as a mission level focal point for their questions/issues. Make suggestions for increasing the effectiveness.
- Continuously work on identifying better ways of ensuring safeguarding, conduct benchmarking with other NGOs to ensure best practices.
- Upon request of the Head Office, take part in investigations.
- Work closely with dedicated MEAL personnel to ensure safeguarding measures are well integrated in programs.
- Interact and work closely with the Safeguarding Expert at Head Office. Act as their main focal point withing the mission.
- Support the Country Director in other compliance and safeguarding topics. Actively suggest improvements and take the lead in their implementation.
