Job Category: TechnicalJob Description:Grade UE06: £34,132 to £39,355 per annumCMVM/Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences/Edinburgh Medical SchoolFull-time: 35 hours per weekFixed term until 31 January 2026The Opportunity:Join our forward-thinking team at the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences as a Software Developer. Contribute to the development of the CAMARADES-NC3Rs Preclinical Systematic Review & Meta-analysis Facility (SyRF; https://syrf.org.uk/ ), a fully integrated online platform for performing systematic reviews of preclinical studies and help support the research activities of the Collaborative Approach to Meta-Analysis and Review of Animal Data from Experimental Studies (CAMARADES) research group.This post is fixed term until 31st of January 2026, there may be a possibility of an extension.Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Proficiency in Front-End Development: Strong experience with Angular, capable of independently designing and implementing complex user interfaces, taking conceptual design through to execution.
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies: Demonstrated ability utilising Agile practices, preferably within a Scrum framework, with a proactive approach to task and feature prioritisation within a dynamic team environment.
  • Back-End Development Skills: Knowledge of C#, MongoDB, and general API maintenance.
  • Problem Solving and Innovation: Ability to collaborate closely with both technical and non-technical team members to translate user feedback and real-world challenges into functional and intuitive software solutions.
  • Communication and Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with and gather requirements from various stakeholders, providing technical support and fostering a productive and collaborative team environment.
