Description Stainless Steel Fabricator / Welder Navan, Co Meath. The Role: Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor this role involves creating & building stainless steel wastewater tanks and ancillary equipment. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of working in a workshop environment and possess good knowledge of Stainless Steel TIG welding. The capability to use brake presses, guillotines, cutting, drilling equipment & various workshop tools. The ability to read drawings and interpret site sketches is a pre-requisite. Main Duties and Responsibilities: The main duties and responsibilities of Stainless Steel Fabricators / Welders are outlined as follows: Work as part of a team in the delivery of one or more projects at any one time, embracing the ethos of “one team” culture. Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental standards, policies and procedures are always adhered. Review of design stage mechanical drawings and P&ID to validate designs, familiarise with project and spot issues before they arise. Provide input and feedback on design to contribute to DfMA efficiencies. Work well on own initiate with a good work ethos to achieve a high production output. Complete tanks, sub-assemblies & small parts as required. Quantity and Quality of work to be of a high standard, free of defects and with attention to detail. Ability to problem solve, able to complete tasks with minimal supervision. Complete all test documentation and inspection and test plans (ITPs) as required. An ability to weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. Actively participate in product and process improvement by providing lessons learned feedback and innovative solutions for adoption on future projects. Other duties as required from time to time. Must be neat and have good housekeeping skills. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: The main knowledge, skills and experience required of Stainless Steel Fabricators / Welders are outlined as follows: Minimum of 3+ years’ experience working in a similar role in a fast-paced manufacture and/or repair workshop Experienced in the TIG welding with flat, folded and pipe projects. Ability to liaise on a technical level with Engineering Department to support product improvements. Must have basic Weld polishing & cleaning experience. Ability to work as part of a team with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage time when given a work list, including continuous feedback to line manager on work close-out. Main thicknesses used are 1mm to 10mm so applicant must be comfortable with working on light materials. Ability to use own initiative, problem solve and adjust as issues arise.
