Job responsibilities
ResponsibilitiesWHAT YOULL DO:The principal duties of these posts will be to:Be a member of the GI and HPB MDTsParticipate in the management of GI and HPB patientsAttend the GI and HPB MDT meetingsShare the GI and HPB patient referralsSupport the Patient Triggered Follow Up (PTFU) pathwayProvide medical oncology expertise to the GI and HPB servicesPlan and supervise chemo/immunotherapyConduct on treatment review clinicsSupervise care of inpatients providing cross-cover for annual leave for other GI and HPB Consultants at UHS.Engage in peer review meetingsParticipate in the recruitment and running of clinical trialsAs a University Hospital:All consultants are expected to actively participate in teaching and training of junior medical and nursing staff and allied health professionalsAll consultants are expected to clinically supervise junior medical staffInvolvement in educational supervision is expected, subject to General Medical Council requirementsActive involvement in co-ordinating education and training within the department is also encouragedWHAT WERE LOOKING FORWe are looking for dynamic individuals who are keen to work with the team to develop the GI and HPB oncology services to provide world class care to our patients.ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONIndividuals wishing to apply must be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC).The successful candidate will be employed under the terms and conditions of service for Consultants (England) 2003.Interviews will be held on TBCJob Reference: MT1225 – This vacancy closes on or before: 15th August 2024To apply for this post, please click the Apply button.The closing date is 15th August 2024.Please download the attached documents for further information regarding this post.Supporting Documents for Consultant in Medical Oncology (Lung and Gynae Cancers)(PDF)(PDF)(PDF)
