Role Profile

We have an exciting opportunity available for the position of Country Representative Japan – Food Ingredients. Our ingredients business offerings includes a range of dairy and plant based ingredients and related services that will continue to expand as we grow the business.

Reporting to the Regional Director ASPAC, this role is based in Japan. The country portfolio includes key customers and channel partners that are Japan based with a view to further expanding our reach to other relevant territories.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the execution of the regional market strategy to deliver on our product category business goals and objectives. In addition, collaborating closely with Marketing, Category, R&D and Insights colleagues on product strategy execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage existing business and achieve the annual budget.
• Lead on local pricing and market insights to ensure a Tirlán/Customer win-win in value creation and to shape the pricing policy.
• Manage day-to-day “operational” issues and coordinate with other internal functions with the aim of providing a best-in-class service to the customer.
• Contribute towards the evolving business strategy and growth plan for the region and for your key customers; identify strategic opportunities and define short to medium term priorities.
• Provide support with third party manufacturing as may be required via the evolving Tirlán strategy.
• Provide regional support on key global accounts on behalf of Tirlán as required.
• Strengthen our customer and channel partner relationships ; Reinforce our position as preferred supplier /partner with key customers
• Leadership & communication; Set and manage priorities across the value chain ; Reporting and communication externally and internally to the support our customers and our business.

Key Requirements:

• Ideally educated to at least degree standard in business and/or dairy science
• 7 years experience in the dairy or nutrition industry, preferably in the Japan dairy and/or food industry.
• A history of successful account management and positive influencing of key stakeholders. Experience and success in consultative selling techniques would be ideal.
• A history of successful development of new business, be capable of finding and harvesting opportunities for all Tirlán products and services.
• Ability to work independently and on your own initiative.
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly.
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
• Good administrative ability and attention to detail.
