About ITF

The International Transformation Foundation (ITF) is a youth-led non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals and communities through transformative education and sustainable development. Established in 2010, ITF collaborates with communities, government agencies, and youth to address critical global issues such as poverty, access to education, and the right to clean drinking water. ITF’s volunteer program aims to inspire change among young people, promote resilience, and create equitable opportunities for growth and development. Our projects focus on building local capacities, fostering innovation, and promoting sustainable practices to ensure a lasting positive impact on the communities we serve.

Current Projects Include:

  • JIJENGE KIJANA FUND: A youth livelihood initiative that provides micro-credit, micro-saving, and entrepreneurial training to empower beneficiaries in establishing stable livelihoods.
  • ERASMUS PLUS PROJECTS: An EU-supported program promoting sustainable development in education, training, youth, and sport.
  • Water Kiosk at School: A student-managed business that sells clean tap water to local residents at affordable prices.
  • Public Drinking Water Fountain: The installation of sustainable drinking water fountains (refill stations) in key public locations, providing free access to clean water.

Job Context

In 2017, ITF expanded its operations beyond Kenya with the launch of the “ITF Dream Challenge,” aiming to establish a global presence. ITF registered as an international NGO in Rwanda and set up an office in Muhanga District. The organization is currently implementing the Water Kiosk at School project in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, which provides a list of schools and recommendations for registration with the Rwanda Governance Board.

Role Overview

As the Country Secretary, you will represent ITF at local and international forums, including JADF meetings, conferences, and events. You will work to enhance ITF’s visibility and engagement locally and globally, while strengthening relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • General Administration and Accounting: Oversee office operations, maintain financial records, process transactions, and ensure regulatory compliance. Support budgeting, reporting, and ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E): Supervise M&E for projects, ensuring objectives and performance standards are met. Track progress, collect data, analyze outcomes, and provide reports to guide decision-making and continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Public Administration, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Experience in office administration and secretarial duties, preferably within a non-profit or development organization.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (additional languages are an asset).
    • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides) and other office productivity tools such as Drive, Forms, Meet, Calendar, and Keep.
    • Basic understanding of budgeting, financial management, and reporting, with the ability to handle financial documents and transactions.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to proactively address issues.
  • Location Preference: Muhanga District, Kigali, Southern Province, Rwanda, with flexibility and willingness to relocate.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about community development, youth empowerment, and creating lasting change. Join ITF in our mission to bring transformative education and sustainable development to the communities we serve.
