Day Services Team Leader, DublinLocation: Dublin CityVarious full time Contracts available ( 2- year Fixed Term and Specific Purpose)The purpose of this role is to assist the DSM in providing effective leadership, management, coaching and supervision to the Coffee Shop, PACT and Advice & Information teams in a collaborative and dynamic manner. This role is both a practitioner and management role.What you will do:
- To work within the framework of the overall aims and objectives of Focus Ireland.
- To implement the agencies policies and procedures and to be involved in developing and devising policies to meet the changing needs of the service and its customers.
- To deputise in the absence of the DSM.
- To ensure effective management of the Coffee Shop service over a seven day rota.
- In conjunction with the DSM and second TL, ensure staff in the Coffee Shop, PACT and A&I services carry out professional duties to the best of their ability.
- To participate in the on-call manager rota.
- To assist the DSM in ensuring the effective operational running and safety of all services.
- To effectively liaise with external agencies and other relevant Focus Ireland services.
- To effectively respond to the changing needs and challenges of the customer base.
- To actively participate in Focus Ireland’s training programme, and to identify and respond to training needs.
- To supervise Project Workers, Graduates & Peer Support Workers across all three services.
- To attend meetings and represent the team and the agency at external events/networks.
- To participate in the recruitment and selection of project staff.
- To maintain, develop and support staff performance, morale and motivation.
- Organise staff rotas and to ensure adequate cover on the Coffee Shop floor.
- To engage in contact work in a supportive and productive manner.
- To manage and supervise the Coffee Shop area, ensuring the safety of customers and staff on the floor.
- To carry out initial assessments in PEAs under the PACT remit.
- To ensure appropriate and relevant records are kept, and to supervise staff keeping records.
- To undertake any other relevant and reasonable work assigned by the Manager , Head of Services or Director of Services.
- Conduct case reviews, appraisals and development planning meetings as required.
What you will need:
- Third level qualification to degree level in Social Science, Social Care or related discipline.
- 6 months – 2 years supervisory experience.
- Report writing abilities.
- Experience of working and liaising with other agencies.
- Knowledge of impact of developmental trauma and trauma informed care.
- Experience of managing behaviours of concern, crisis intervention & risk management.
- Excellent working knowledge of services available to people experiencing homelessness including day services, therapeutic support services, addiction services and emergency and transitional accommodation providers.
- Excellent communication & IT skills.
- Highly organised with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Experience of stakeholder management.
- Working knowledge of National Quality Standards Framework.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
