We focus on wellbeing and individuality, so that all our people can thrive.Why is this role important and how does it fit into the team, department and wider firm?We’re seeking a dynamic and results-driven Salesperson to join our established business, as the market leading law firm serving the country’s schools and academy trusts. The primary responsibility of this role is to follow up and convert leads into sales for our products and training services. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding our client base, securing new business, fostering relationships, and contributing to the growth of our education team.Key Responsibilities: * Lead generation: Utilise various sources and methods to identify and qualify potential leads within the UK education sector, with a particular focus on schools and academy trusts.
- Lead follow-up and nurture: Contact and engage with leads through phone calls, emails, and other communication channels to understand their needs and establish a rapport.
- Product presentation: Provide comprehensive information about our products and training services to potential clients, addressing their concerns and objections effectively.
- Consultative selling: Tailor product and service offerings to the specific needs and challenges of each potential client, showcasing our firm’s expertise in education law.
- Conversion: Employ persuasive sales techniques to convert leads into clients, negotiating terms, and closing deals in a professional and ethical manner.
- Relationship building: Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders in the Education team and with clients, prospects and sector partners ensuring their satisfaction with our services and acting as a key point of contact.
- Market research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, educational policies, and changes affecting schools and academy trusts to provide informed recommendations.
- Collaboration:
- Close alignment with the Business Development Manager for Education, particularly on product positioning, target audiences and sales as part of the promotional mix.
- Embedded within the Education TMG working closely with legal teams to understand product value and opportunities. Working to upskill and enthuse associates to increase sales proficiency.
- Work with Education Partners to develop sales strategies, support product enhancement and new product development.
- Work effectively across Client & Marketing teams to support delivery against objectives.
- Sales reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, leads, and client interactions in our CRM system.
- Targets: Meet or exceed agreed quarterly and annual sales targets and quotas.
Product priorities:The initial priorities within our product portfolio for this role to focus on will be: * Support packs – we package up supporting resources and templates to equip schools and trusts with professional documents, communications and processes to ensure compliance in a range of areas, including Exclusions, Complaints Management, Policies, Safer Recruitment and more.
- CPD courses – professional development programmes for senior staff, typically taking place over four – six months, to develop exertise in areas such as Complaints Management, Data Protection, Trust Safeguarding, and HR.
- Other training (limited) – individually purchased delegate courses, usually taking place online for two – four hours, focused on topics such as Exclusions, Link Trustee Safeguarding training. Bespoke, in-person alternatives are also offered.
- EduCompli – our own online learning platform offering the core staff compliance courses we design.
- Quickcall family – our popular legal support packages, currently used by onver 1,000 schools and trusts.
Job descriptionPerson specificationQualifications:
- Proven experience in B2B sales, particularly in a consultative sales role.
- Knowledge of the UK education sector and education law (preferred).
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation and objection-handling abilities.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and results-driven.
- Data-driven with a proficiency in using CRM software and sales tools.
- Adaptability and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of successful sales experience, preferably in the education sector.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Personal qualities:
- Professional and ethical approach to sales and client relationships.
- Highly organised, with strong time management skills.
- Confidence, persistence, and a positive attitude.
- A genuine interest in the field of education and a commitment to the firm’s mission.
Additional requirements:
- This role will require travel to meet with clients and attend sector events.
- The salesperson may occasionally need to work outside of regular office hours to accommodate client schedules and events attendance.
