Salary: £29,000

Hours: 42-hour week made up of 12-hour rotating shift pattern: x2 Days, x2 Nights, x4 Days Off. Overtime available. Operate 24/7/365

Location: 33 Grosvenor Place, London, SW1X 7HY

What are we looking for?

Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit an Emergency Response Officer to join our Protective Services Department.

The role is directly responsible for the quality of the patient/visitor experience and for employees within functional areas. The role will create and operationalize measures of success and uses data to make effective decisions that continuously improves emergency response, general security and service, operates efficiently and ensures effective stewardship of resources.

You will be CCL’s primary first responder to all code calls and emergency situations requiring a rapid response and further investigation, this applies both inside and outside of normal office hours.

What will your duties include?

Provide emergency first responder support and security oversight to the Security Supervisor for all Protective Service Operations

Respond to all incoming and outgoing communications from the LSOC

Responds to all security phone calls, emergency calls and alarms in line with the CCL Emergency Operations Plan and Business Continuity Plan and specific code call procedures

You will be responsible for delivering site safety and responding to all emergency incidents. This includes reducing the potential for injury, loss of life, property, and/or destruction of property by conducting visual inspections and area checks. (e.g., fire & incident response, floods, spillages, first aid, lift entrapments and other related incident response).

Provide specialist fire knowledge and act as onsite liaison for any attending emergency services where required

Maintain all emergency equipment in a state of readiness, including cleanliness, repairing and testing as required to approved standards and procedures to undertake safety checks on emergency equipment provided for ERT use

What we need from you?

High school diploma or equivalent (Required)

Security NVQ’s (Required)

Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Valid SIA Door Supervisor certification (Desired)

Military or Police training and appropriate certification (Desired)

Demonstrable experience over several roles or equivalent progression as an emergency responder or front line responder within Corporate, Healthcare or security/military/police operational positions (Required)

Demonstrable experience responding to emergencies within recent work history

Demonstrable experience and expertise within UK security sector or International experience in a Military or Civilian Operational role

Demonstrable experience in team leadership in a demanding security operations environment

Demonstrable operational experience responding to emergencies and incidents in line with an Emergency Operations Plan and Business Continuity Plan for a large organizations, preferably in a major city

Demonstrable experience using up to date technology and supporting the team of a 24/7 security operations center (LSOC) for regional requests relating to emergency management, investigations, access and egress control, CCTV surveillance and linked third party management systems

Experienced and confident in emergency situations such as evacuations, disturbances & building lockdowns, with the ability to take operational control as first responders and by working within defined processes and procedures guide the team and the organization

Previous experience and / or training within the Military or Police (Desired)
