Job Title: Fuel Economy Testing Lab Hardware Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Fuel Economy Testing Lab Hardware Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will work alongside engineers, union technicians, and mechanics to troubleshoot and resolve test equipment issues for various emissions testing equipment. You will perform quality control and calibration activities, support new test cell equipment integration, and work on projects to improve test cell efficiencies and throughput. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and experience in automotive testing. This is a 2nd shift position from 3:30pm to 11:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve test equipment issues for emissions testing equipment, including 9 Emissions Chassis Dynamometer test cells and 2 SHEDs.

• Perform quality control and calibration activities to meet regulatory and internal department requirements, including tracking and documentation.

• Support the integration of new test cell equipment for new regulatory and powertrain testing community requirements.

• Work on projects to improve test cell efficiencies and throughput.

• Analyze test results and validate tests to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal criteria.

• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Work Environment

This position is 100% onsite at the Chelsea Proving Grounds testing labs. You will work within a collaborative team environment, utilizing advanced testing technologies and equipment. The role operates on a 2nd shift schedule from 3:30pm to 11:30pm.

The pay range for this position is $42.97 – $42.97
