Job Description:Are you a chemical engineer with 2-5 years experience in energy and/or chemical sectors, working in consulting, engineering or commercial roles looking for an opportunity within a consulting team based in our London office?We are looking for an Analyst/Senior Analyst to work across NexantECA, the Energy and Chemicals Advisory company, with involvement in single client projects. The work will cover technology, economics, and market analysis within a broad range of energy and chemical-related industries; from hydrocarbon fuels and feedstocks, petrochemicals and polymers, to C1 chemicals, bio-renewables, and special topics.As an Analyst you will;

  • Research, analyse and write reports on the energy and chemical related industries and provide content for single client reports and subscription programs.
  • Research technology, market, financial, environmental and commercial aspects of the energy and chemical industries.
  • Conduct primary market research with key industry participants to understand and identify key market and technical dynamics.
  • Analyse the industry using excel and NexantECA databases generating meaningful analysis.
  • Prepare written reports providing insight and description regarding key trends.
  • Support team members in all aspects of client engagements including webinars and client presentations.
  • Meet internal quality goals and work within deadlines and budgets.
  • Exceed clients’ expectations with quality research, analysis and report writing and verbal presentation of key findings.
  • Develop and broaden personal industry knowledge and capabilities regarding market analysis, including supporting others in efforts to sell new services and reports.

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant energy industry discipline e.g. chemical engineering, chemistry, engineering and economics.
  • Higher degree in relevant subject (masters, PhD).
  • Excellent standard of academic qualification.

Skills & Experience

  • 2-5 years relevant industry and consulting experience.
  • Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft spread sheets, word processing and presentation applications.
  • Ability to analyse and problem solve.
  • Proficient in the use of databases.
  • Excellent presentation and report writing skills.
  • Good research skills.
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Diplomatic in meeting and working with people, good cultural awareness.
