An exciting opportunity to join Ireland’s leading independent manufacturer of concrete and bituminous construction materials. We are currently looking for an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager to be primarily based out of our headquarters at Piercetown, Dunboyne, Co. Meath to look after our Paving & Walling element of the business. The successful candidate will also be looking after the K Pro element of the business in Brownstown, Kildare.The successful candidate will proactively manage health, safety, and welfare to ensure statutory compliance and best safe working practices at our high-tech manufacturing facilities located in Piercetown, Dunboyne, Co. Meath and in Brownstown, Kildare and further operations as required.The ideal candidate will possess a safety & environmental qualification (i.e. NEBOSH), an auditor qualification (i.e. ISO 14001, 9001, 45001) and instructor/trainer qualifications (i.e. First Aid/manual handling).This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an ambitious and detail-oriented individual seeking the next step in their career.Responsibilities:· Proactively champion the health and safety function across site, ensure safe working practices are adopted across the manufacturing facilities for paving, walling and landscaping products along with our K Pro Range.· Promote a culture of EHS excellence and provide high-quality EHS technical knowledge and reinforce safety on-site by providing/promoting employee awareness/training on matters of environmental, health, and safety.· Monitor legislative updates, ensuring necessary changes are applied promptly.· Develop and recommend safety standards and procedures in accordance with company and regulatory requirements and assist facility personnel in plant-wide implementation and maintenance of safety standards and procedures· Regularly review and update Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures, and Safety Statement, communicating any updates across site.· Set up, monitor, and coordinate Safety Induction Training for all new employees and sub-contractors and maintain documentary evidence of same.·· Assist the Health & Safety Team and Directors on various projects to improve processes and reduce the overall health and safety risk of the workforce.· Assist all Managers with training needs e.g. Manual Handling, Forklift Training, Emergency Response Training, etc.· Develop Emergency, Evacuation and Traffic Management Plans for site.· Carry out Safety Inspections and Audits.· Record, report, and carry out incident investigations and promptly and effectively, ensuring that corrective actions are implemented without delay.· Liaise closely with company insurers and claims departments with incident/accident investigations· Identify new and on-going safety related training requirements, ensuring all mandatory training is reviewed and delivered on time.· Ensure that correct PPE is always availed of by all relevant employees.· Review sub-contractors’ Health & Safety systems and procedures, prior to works commencing and ensure they conform to their health & safety standards and Kilsaran’s standards.· Assist with maintaining and sustaining the ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems for the company.· Prepare and implement environmental programmes for energy, water, materials, air, noise and waste.· Facilitate the monthly Health & Safety team meetings for Clonee Management.· Attend regular Health & Safety & Environmental meetings.· Liaise with organisations such as the HSA, Irish Concrete Federation and other professional bodies.· Demonstrate a lead by example approach to all aspects of Health & Safety, be fully compliant with Company Health & Safety: policies, procedures, systems, and rules.·Skills Required:· Third level Health & Safety & Environmental qualification or equivalent.· 5+ years’ experience in a Health & Safety & Environmental advisors/management role in the Manufacturing or Construction Industry is essential.· Excellent knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislations and regulations.· Experience of Environmental Management – waste management.· Ability to operate in a high paced environment.· Ability to drive continuous improvement.· Strong IT / Administration skills essential.· Manual Handling or First Aid Instructor.· Safe Pass.· Full, Clean Driver’s Licence.What You Get:Kilsaran is an organization that believes that our people are our greatest strength, and our success is down to the dedication and enthusiasm of our team.
