Erasmus+ is the EU’s programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe. The 2021-2027 programme places a strong focus on social inclusion, the green and digital transitions, and promoting young people’s participation in democratic life.Tasks:
POLICY

  • Advising on the university’s policy on internationalisation.
  • Keeping up to date with the recent developments within the Higher Education environment on an international level.
  • Keeping up to date with European developments in the context of ‘Erasmus+’. Identify synergies with EU research programmes and other programmes with external funding.

OPERATIONAL

  • Information and networking
  • Inform the academic community about European funding opportunities and procedures within the Erasmus+ programme.
  • Organising and attending meetings with academics, governments, partners and relevant European and Flemish Agencies (EPOS).
  • Analyse potential new cooperation opportunities with new or existing partner universities and establish and maintain contacts.
  • Project management
  • Administrative support for the European Education Projects of the Erasmus+ programme as a team and according to an agreed division of tasks:
  • Follow-up on calls launched by the EU;
  • Informing (potential) project coordinators about the donor guidelines. Exchange of expertise with internal stakeholders;
  • Contribute to or provide input for the writing of new projects submitted for funding to the European or National Agency;
  • Proofreading of projects developed by promoters on logical coherence, budgeting and application of the EU directives;
  • Developing and applying management quality assurance tools. Evaluation of processes and refinement of procedures.
  • Import of data into own and external databases
  • Preparation of reports.
  • Efficient archiving of projects and data.

For this position, campus Etterbeek will be your main workplace, with the possibility of remote work on a monthly basis for up to 50%.3 – ProfileWhat do we expect from you?

  • Required expertise and/or diplomas: you have a master’s degree with at least 5 years of experience in project management. Project work within the Erasmus+ portfolio is an added value.
  • You have knowledge of project management; You can translate policy guidelines into concrete objectives and develop them into action plans with clear processes, deploy the right resources and take the necessary actions to prevent possible obstacles.
  • You are familiar with the academic world and in particular with developments in internationalisation in higher education
  • You have very good verbal and written communication skills in English. Dutch is a plus.
  • Your skills in the use of common PC applications (word processing, spreadsheet, calendar management, internet,..) are very good.
  • You are good with people; You love working with others.
  • Customer-friendliness is an essential concept for you.
  • You are good at result-oriented work, planning, organizing and respecting deadlines.
  • You act on the basis of the codes of integrity, care, objectivity, equal treatment, correctness and transparency based on the basic rules and social and ethical standards.
