About the role
- Barry Callebaut Digital (BC Digital) i) is on a mission to lead the digital revolution in the chocolate industry, and we’re looking for an Expert Network Engineer to support this transformative journey. Reporting directly to the Director Network, you will lead and support projects such as new implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives, as well as support the monitoring and preservation of the network infrastructure of Barry Callebaut. You will also be responsible for operating and managing the local (LAN, WLAN) and global (WAN) network infrastructure and providing remote access to Barry Callebaut’s networks incl. network access control.
Key responsibilities include
- Manage and monitor the network infrastructure incl. the operation of local (LAN, WLAN) and global (WAN) network structure
- Provide remote access to the network and ensure a proper network access control
- Guide and coach colleagues as SMEs for network infrastructure
- Provide day-to-day operational network support and maintenance responding to related inquiries
- Create and deploy new network solutions and/or enhance the efficiency of existing networks
- Set up, configure, and maintain network devices routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, etc.
- Acquire network equipment and oversee subcontractors engaged in network installation
- Set up and configure firewalls, routing and switching to optimize network efficiency and security
- Ensure optimal network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
- Document the network infrastructure through Standard Operation Procedures and Instructions
About you
- Degree in IT/technology, computer science, network technology, network security or a comparable field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the field
- Proficient in English
- Deep knowledge of local and global network management (LAN, WLAN), network access controls, configuration management, and troubleshooting, as well as in SLA-oriented service delivery 24×7
- Deep knowledge of the installation and configuration of network hardware, such as routers, switches, and firewalls
- Deep understanding of networking protocols like TCP/IP, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, 802.1x, QoS, and network services such as DNS, and DHCP.
- Deep understanding of WLAN (radio frequencies (RF), link performance, reliability, and quality)
- Deep knowledge of SD-WAN and SASE solutions
- Deep knowledge of Cisco products, with special emphasis on Meraki Cloud Managed Solutions (MS, MX, MR, etc). Other switch brands (HPE Aruba, Mellanox) are a plus.
- Good knowledge of Azure networking
- Good knowledge of Network Access Control, knowledge of HPE Aruba Clearpass is a plus Independent and self-driven personality, taking responsibility and owning tasks
- Possesses good problem-solving skills and a structured way of working
- Good written and verbal communication skills, being able to communicate problems to non-technical audiences
- Good communication, documentation, and drawing (design, topologies) skills
- Openness to try and learn new technologies and skills
- Experience with API scripting and IT automation engines (DevNet)
- Knowledge of OT networking
- Knowledge of Infrastructure Monitoring or Observability tools
- Good understanding of ITIL processes
