Your Role: US Farm Animal Retail Sales- Fleet & Ecommerce Account Manager

The Fleet & eCommerce Account Manager works within the US Farm Animal Retail team to grow and drive our packaged goods portfolio with identified key retail fleet and eCommerce accounts within the larger $50M+ packaged goods retail business. This sales role will ensure that ongoing customer relationships within the assigned accounts are maintained and strengthened through an understanding of the customers’ business model and meeting identified customer needs.

This role will work cross-functionally within the US Farm Animal Channel and Marketing teams to initiate and execute account plans for these fleet and eCommerce accounts and implement those plans through coordinated Elanco activities. Additionally, this role will support in creating and implementing the US Farm Animal Retail & eCommerce Strategy through their retail business understanding and customer expertise.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Account Management & Execution
  • Utilize Strategic Account Management (SAM) principals to manage and strengthen business partnerships with identified fleet retail and eCommerce customers
  • Identify and act upon customer needs by coordinating and deploying Elanco resources and portfolio solutions, working across the organization to meet those needs
  • Ensure outstanding customer issues are resolved in a timely manner to the customers’ complete satisfaction
  • Business Ownership
  • Deliver and deploy fleet retail tactics to assigned customers in order drive sales – including (but not limited to) annual and seasonal programs, trade funds, product training, digital/print materials, POP materials and signage, in-store events, product support and training materials
  • Establish sales targets for each assigned customer and develop specific action plans to reach each specific target
  • Strategy & Leadership
  • Partner with marketing and the larger US Farm Animal Retail Team on executing strategic initiatives designed to grow the dealer/retail business across the organization
  • Become an internal expert and leader on the retail and eCommerce business within US Farm Animal; understand retail ‘language’, key drivers and motivators in customer decisions, effective in-store and online merchandising, farm animal retail landscape (competitors, marketplace trends, etc.)
  • Partner with Pet Health sales and marketing counterparts to understand the full Elanco impact to fleet and eCommerce customers and establish a “ways of working” across the businesses that will mutually benefit Elanco and our customers through a “One Elanco” mindset

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree, Marketing/Business and/or Animal Science preferred
  • Relevant experience in sales or marketing (both digital and ‘brick and mortar’ experience preferred)
  • Demonstrated understanding of eCommerce and retail space
  • Understanding of livestock space

  • Understanding of channel/distribution space
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization (both internal and external)
  • Demonstrated track record of successful implementation of projects and delivery of outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability in communication, conflict resolution, judgment and managing complexity
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and project management tools
  • Demonstrated learning agility

Elanco currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from $52,900.00 to $110,100.00 depending partly on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending partly on company and individual performance). Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees that includes a company-matching 401(k); vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death ­benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities). Of course, the compensation is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
