Farm Associate

Farm Associates are responsible for the overall care, bio-security, husbandry, of the facilities and poultry that are contained within the described properties. Insure that all programs and procedures are followed and implemented as described by the company guidelines. These are to be followed by all who enter the facilities at all times. In so doing, maintaining a high degree of quality, while running an efficient and cost effective operation.

General Responsibilities:

Daily activities for farm associates include but are not limited to:

• Feeding and restocking for the following day.
• Picking up and incinerating mortality
• Humanely euthanizing birds that cannot access feed/water
• Walking in the chicken house multiple times a day to gather floor/slat eggs on breeder farms
• Gathering and sorting eggs putting them in the cooler at the proper intervals on breeder farms
• Performing routine maintenance
• Maintaining a clean farm both inside and outside
• Shower in/ shower out and follow all biosecurity procedures

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted
• Routine handling and interacting with live poultry
• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
• Standing for extended periods of time (6 hours)
• Grip, grasp or twist using hands and wrists
• Bend and stoop repetitively throughout out shift
• Prolonged exposure to dry and dusty environments
• Work cooperatively with a team
• Strong sense of personal responsibility
• Take accountability for individual performance
• Withstand ongoing presence of farm related smells or foul odors
• Extreme climate exposure both hot and cold
• Working in damp and/or wet climate, PPE provided
