Description:

Position Summary: The Education Coordinator is responsible for the success of education program at McLaughlin Grows Urban Farm at Trinity Health Muskegon. Coordinator empowers community members, colleagues, and patients to improve health behaviors and health outcomes by creating standards-based curricula, delivering programming both on and off farm related sites; creating physical spaces that promote learning and enjoyment of the space.

What you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience preferred in Education, Community Development or related field.
• Minimum:2 years of experience in experiential education, curricula development, and community partnerships.
• Minimum: Strong public speaking and communication via oral, written, and digital avenues. Ability to work outdoors in all seasons.
• First Aid/CPR/AED

What you will do:

• Independently design and deliver year-round, meaningful education programming, including health-related cooking classes, summer camp, field trips, and workshops.
• Design and deliver curricula and materials that employ current best practices and education standards for a wide range of students including youth, patients, community members, physicians, and health care professionals.
• Design, create, and maintain spaces at McLaughlin Grows Urban Farm to promote engagement and education.
• Provide leadership and support to experiential education community and support community partners in regional health improvement initiatives.
• Creates and delivers training staff and interns to deliver programs.
