Farm Tractor Operator – Burbank, WA

SUMMARY

Operates John Deere tractors, heavy farm equipment and implements to accomplish field work and various assigned farming tasks on a potato farm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

75% Operates tractors and trucks to plane, plow, plant, disc, and cultivate farm ground

25% Performs light maintenance on equipment such as replenishing fuel, checking oil levels, etc.; ensures equipment is serviced in a timely manner by mechanics.

Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE

• 1-2 years experience operating a tractor
• Previous experience operating potato equipment is a plus
• Previous experience operating John Deere GPS is a plus

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for collaborating with team members.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to employees and managers of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

LICENSES

Must be a licensed driver of single axle vehicles.
