COUNTRY Financial is seeking motivated individuals to join our Farm Underwriting team. As a Farm Underwriter, you will review/analyze new business coverage submissions and deliver high-quality underwriting decisions while working in a production-based environment. Farm underwriters will also partner with our agency force to build relationships, promote profitable book of business growth, and provide professional advice/technical assistance.

This position offers full-time remote work.

How does a Farm Underwriter make an impact? 

• Review and underwrite agriculture lines risk (i.e., selection/rejection of new and renewal business) of new applications and in-force business with higher degrees of risk not processed by automated systems. 
• Administers and monitors underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations. 
• Analyzes quality and quantity of risks underwritten, prepares reports accordingly.
• Ensures adequate pricing of insurable risks by properly classifying the exposure and verify that characteristics are identified and applied and make changes where appropriate.
• Communicating with financial representatives, Underwriting, and/or other internal departments to obtain information or approval/denial of a policy transaction. 

Do you have what we’re looking for? 

• Demonstrate a basic working knowledge of risk analysis, underwriting principles, and insurance policies/coverages.
• Knowledge and/or experience with insurance company operations and financial services products.
• Strong analytical, decision making, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as with others in a fast-paced production environment.
• CPCU or other insurance designations/certifications preferred.
• Regular travel to field locations. 
• Typically requires 2 years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training.
