FARM UNDERWRITING ASSISTANT

IMT Insurance is looking to fill the position of Underwriting Assistant on the Farm Team. As a Farm Underwriting Assistant, you will work within a team to underwrite, amend, review, and maintain farm and personal liability risks. Successful Underwriting Assistants will provide prompt and friendly customer service to agents and insureds while maintaining a positive relationship in order to meet department profit and growth objectives. A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Determine business acceptability through written or telephone communication based on established guidelines and authority granted.
• Provide professional customer service to internal and external customers.
• Process new farm and personal liability business and underwrite/pro­cess renewals, amendments and cancellations.
• Obtain or confirm underwriting information, order surveys, motor vehicle reports, true and certified policies, loss runs and other documentation.
• Review daily pending cash lists.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• College education or equivalent. Previous insurance experience and/or customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to pay close attention to details (e.g., keying and proofing).
• Ability to accurately key information for processing of all business.
• Proficient math skills needed for rating and proof­ing applications.
• Good reading comprehension order to underwrite.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers using all forms of communication.
• Ability to use computerized rating and policy issuance systems, Microsoft Office Products and function in a personal computer network environment.

The salary range for this position is $43,000.00 to $54,000.00

Starting salary and level of position will depend on level of experience

This position is not eligible for tips or commission but may be eligible for additional bonuses
