“Implemented by the Europe and Central Asia Division, the project “Fostering security sector governance and oversight in Armenia as basis for crisis prevention and stabilization” aims at supporting security sector reform in line with democratic norms, standards and good practices. We are looking for a motivated and highly qualified individual to be our next:
Finance and Administrative Officer (50%)
Location: Yerevan, Armenia
Starting date: March 2025
Duration: 12-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension
YOUR ROLE
Under the supervision of the Geneva-based head of the DCAF programme in Armenia and the national project officer in Yerevan, the incumbent will support the implementation of the DCAF programme in Armenia.
Overall tasks and responsibilities:
- Perform administrative tasks related to the functioning of the DCAF Programme in Armenia;
- Perform financial tasks related to the activities of the DCAF Programme in Armenia, including bookings, payments, reconciliation, cash management;
- Ensure prompt review and processing of financial workflows and oversee expense commitments and payment processes in close collaboration with the DCAF HQ-based Administrative and Finance Officer;
- Provide comprehensive and up to date financial information to the project team, e.g. in support of annual project budgeting, forecasts and finance monitoring;
- Remain up to date on all project delivery / reporting deadlines and provide support as appropriate with financial reporting and audits;
- Ensure that DCAF’s finance policies, procedures and standards are respected;
- Remain up to date on all operational aspects related to the DCAF office in Yerevan and follow up on respective deadlines, such as lease renewals;
- Support the project team in the organisation of workshops/trainings/ conferences and meetings organized in Armenia;
- Develop and manage relations with local service providers in Armenia;
- Maintain a well-functioning internal filing and archiving system (hardcopy and electronic);
- Build, nurture and maintain trustful relations with DCAF colleagues in Yerevan and at the HQ in Geneva;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, accounting, or related disciplines;
- 7+ years of relevant professional experience;
- Prior experience in financial management and administrative work, is an asset;
- Prior experience in assisting project management, including the organisation of conferences, workshops, and training activities, is an asset;
- Prior experience in drafting contracts, reports, and correspondence is an asset;
- Fluency in Armenian and proficiency in English, both written and spoken;
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office tools (MS Office Suite and IT tools).
- Armenian citizenship/valid residency at the time of application;
- Strong organisational skills with an ability to work independently and deliver results within the given deadlines;
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written);
- Analytical skills and high attention to detail.
