Finance Manager: Finance Systems and Transformation

If so, we have a great opportunity to become our Finance Manager: Finance Systems and Transformation, based in either London, Birmingham or Bristol.

This is an important financial systems and transformation role, reporting directly to the Senior Finance Manager of Financial Reporting for the Openreach central function.

You will be accountable for all aspects of systems related governance and change, building on the MFB deliverables and our investment in the SAP platform.

You’ll also get a fantastic overview across Openreach and support the wider finance community in delivering a solid and stable finance system platform to assure robust governance and drive the continuous improvement agenda of the Openreach finance community.

You’ll have the following responsibilities

  • Finance lead on all systems related activity ensuring that all chart of accounts and processes are fit for purpose and fulfil the changing needs of the business.

  • Manages prioritisation of system and reporting changes and ensures requirements are delivered to time and quality.

  • Interface into FFSS team on finance data requirements ensuring quality requirements documentation is provided to ensure quality solutions are provided.

  • Lead continuous improvement of finance systems and reporting across Openreach finance ensuring reporting is consistent and completed in a common way across all finance business units.

  • Lead escalation process for any system issues and propose solutions. Ensure that solutions are delivered in a timely manner.

  • Provision of ad-hoc reporting as required.

You’ll have the following skills & experience

  • Qualified Accountant or equivalent experience.

  • Pragmatic team player, adept at holding others to account through a challenging and supportive leadership style, whilst consistently delivering on their own commitments.

  • An expert in their field – with experience of and credibility in engaging across the business.

  • An ability to matrix-manage cross-business teams to complex and multi-phase solutions.

  • Leader and coach to others both within own team and elsewhere, formulates their operational guidelines or in-depth knowledge and advises on specialist area.

  • Leads, champions and manages conflicting priorities with ownership of successful delivery of key organisation-wide finance programmes.

  • Sets agendas, identifies opportunities and promotes the highest standards of best practice and provides insight on finance work area(s) or specialism.
