Security is “job zero” at Amazon, by which we mean it’s even more important than any number one priority. As a key strategic partner to senior Security leaders, the Amazon Security Finance team plays a vital role in building a robust security culture.

Join us as a Finance Manager and become an integral part of this dynamic team. This role goes beyond routine tasks. You’ll be a valuable member who uncovers critical trends, refines forecasting accuracy, and generates actionable insights to empower strategic decision-making. You’ll also be a trusted advisor to senior leadership, translating complex financial data into a compelling business narrative that drives informed security investments.

Key job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Protective Services team on business strategy, fostering growth and development

  • Lead planning processes, providing financial expertise and driving impactful decisions

  • Deliver regular weekly & monthly reporting that influences security investments and strategic direction

  • Develop and maintain scalable financial models that empower informed planning, accurate controllership, and clear visibility into key business drivers.

  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support leaders in tackling business challenges and understanding the financial ramifications of decisions.

  • Demonstrate the agility and resilience to excel in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, consistently delivering impactful results.

About the team

Amazon Security Finance is a relatively new finance team supporting the consolidated security functions across Amazon. We have a unique opportunity to see across all segments, build our own finance team and processes, and work with amazing business partners whose #1 priority is securing Amazon customers, partners, services, and employees.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience

  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
