Hartley People are partnering with one of our long-standing and trusted clients to assist in the recruitment of a Financial Analyst within their group. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a fully qualified financial professional who is eager to deepen their expertise and eventually transition into a Senior Accountant role. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will work closely with senior leadership, including the CEO and COO, to provide valuable financial insights that drive key business decisions. This position promises broad exposure to various aspects of the business and a clear path for professional growth within the organisation.What’s the Role?The Financial Analyst will be pivotal in supporting the financial health of the organisation by providing detailed financial analysis, reporting, and strategic recommendations. You will gain hands-on experience with the full spectrum of financial processes and have the opportunity to step into a more senior accounting role over time. Key responsibilities include:Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial reports, including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis. Provide actionable insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.ERP System Utilization: Extract, analyze, and report financial data from the company’s ERP software, with a particular focus on Power BI. While experience with Power BI is advantageous, experience with other ERP systems is also valuable. You’ll be expected to navigate and learn the system with the support of a strong on-site IT team.Month-End and Year-End Closings: Assist with the preparation of month-end and year-end financial statements, including handling journals, accruals, and prepayments.Management Accounts: Work on the preparation of monthly management accounts and provide insights that align with the company’s financial objectives.Budgeting and Forecasting: Contribute to the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing forecasts to guide business planning.Financial Operations Support: Support day-to-day finance operations, including bank reconciliations, cash flow management, and supplier payment reviews.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to gather data, analyze financial trends, and support overall business performance.Compliance and Reporting: Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT returns, CSO filings, and other regulatory reports as required.Who Are You?You are a proactive and detail-oriented financial professional with a strong analytical mindset. You are eager to expand your skill set and take on broader responsibilities that will set the foundation for your future as a Senior Accountant. Your ability to communicate financial information clearly and your curiosity to explore new systems and processes will set you apart in this role.Key qualifications and attributes include:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Strong analytical skills with a background in financial analysis and reporting
  • Experience with ERP systems (Power BI is a plus) and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in explaining complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role or related finance position
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
