YOUR OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting Genetics Multi-Site Supervisor opportunity in our Hennessey, OK. In this highly impactful role, you will be a key member of the genetics team. The Genetics Multi-Site Supervisor will plan, direct, and coordinate day-to-day farm activities and staff to ensure all daily and weekly production targets are met. They will supervise multiple sites. Attends to swine in the Gilt Development Unit (GDU) by performing the following duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Following proper Gilt Development procedures by:
  • Adhering to procedures outlined in the SBF Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) manual and other procedures outlined by supervisors
  • Striving to reach weekly goals for heat cycle detection and numbers bred (if applicable).
  • Moving gilts and boars to appropriate areas at appropriate times.
  • Completing all records accurately and timely.
  • Maintain High Herd Health and Biosecurity through:
  • Providing and monitoring proper animal comfort with ventilation and heating management.
  • Timely medication and care of sick or injured swine.
  • Following approved vaccination programs.
  • Filling orders of replacement gilts to commercial sow units.
  • Following SBF Bio-Security Policy as outlined in the SOP manual.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting buildings according to schedule.
  • Following proper load-in, and load-out procedures.
  • Proper disposal of dead animals daily.
  • Respond in a timely fashion when notified of an alarm status on a site.
  • Train employees in day-to-day processes and procedures, develop a competent workforce by utilizing hands-on training methods, provide constructive and timely feedback, and offer opportunities for individual growth. 
  • Perform audits of the farm to ensure all standard operating procedures are being followed and facilities are in good working condition. 
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of animals, personnel, and supplies on the farm 
  • Ensure the health and safety of employees and animals at the facility, submit detailed reports, and track feed and ration staging for animals 
  • Manage all controllable costs, including supplies, labor, medication, etc. 
  • Creating and managing employee work schedules if applicable

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety files, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to perform necessary calculations for completion of any and all grow/finish documentation.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must be able to make decisions on routine matters utilizing company policies and procedures and directions from upper management.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION: A valid driver’s license is required and an acceptable MVR.

Required:

  • Associate degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 6 months to 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Must be proficient in English language, reading and writing.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual English and Spanish

SCHEDULE The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management.

  • Primarily an office environment with some need to work in the field.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.

  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
