What you’ll be doing
The Global Network Services organization is seeking a Global Network Build Engineer to provide project delivery support which spans all business units and regions. This role will focus on project delivery of network and security related requests which meet Experian’s global build standards. Additionally, this role will work closely with security compliance, engineering, and operational teams to maintain a resilient and secure network infrastructure to adhere to stringent Regulatory, Governmental, and Industry security control requirements. The team, work with a variety of manufacturers including Skyhigh, Imperva, Trellix, Fortinet, Checkpoint, Cisco and Citrix and relevant qualifications would be advantageous. Must have a good understanding of WAF, IPS, Proxy, DDoS, IP, VPN, SD-WAN, LAN/WAN, switching, routing and load balancing.
Summary of Primary Responsibilities
- Provide network and security design and implementation strategies, migration plans, and technical project support for low to high level complexity projects.
- Use of change control following the ITL framework
- Perform hands on configurations for new delivery deployments
- Attend project meetings and be the technical SME and representative to ensure delivery timelines are met
- Support the implementation of standard designs from the Network Engineering team for Infrastructure projects including configuring, troubleshooting, documentation, optimization and requirements gathering.
- Provides technical guidance for broader solution delivery initiatives
- Provides engineering expertise in identification of process improvement and automation opportunities
- Maintain deep technical knowledge of different Network and Security technologies and supporting solution areas to deliver new technology integrations and solution capabilities.
- Responsibilities include executive and technical-level communications and relationship building to gain credibility/trust of internal and external customers.
- Consult, assess, audit, design, and interview stakeholders to resolve highly technical requirements.
- Research, evaluate and stay ahead of curve on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies.
- Demonstrate strong ‘Consultative based mindset’ with strong listening and collaboration skill for uncovering unmet technology-based needs and translating the requirements into strategic solutions
- High motivation level and an appetite for fast-paced team environment; readily adaptable to changing market and organization requirements
- Problem solving mentality using internal and/or external resources
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Work closely with engineering teams across different time zones to ensure local knowledge and relationships are maintained
Qualifications
- 5+ years of validated experience in managing, provisioning, and implementing network and security technologies in a large globally diverse environment.
- Expert-level experience in Network Security technologies – Incapsula Web Application Firewall (WAF), Imperva Cloud Web Application Firewall, SecureSphere (Hardware WAF), McAfee/Trellix Intrusion prevention systems, Checkpoint and Fortinet Firewalls, Skyhigh on premise and Cloud Web Gateways.
- Strong knowledge of HTTP protocol, SSL/TLS, PKI and Web based attacks
- Good hands-on experience on networking equipment, management tools and network analyzers
- Ability to write detailed methods of procedure and maintain documentation
- Use of Network Automation tools is preferred
- Good knowledge of Layer 3 technologies, including – IPv4, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, PIM, HSRP, DMVPN, NHRP, and GETVPN – is required
- Good knowledge of Layer 2 technologies, including – Spanning-Tree, VLANs, QinQ, Dot1q – is required
- Operational experience with load-balancing technologies and platforms such as Citrix Netscaler, F5
- Foundation level Knowledge of cloud technologies, AWS, Azure, GCP, and APIs
- Extensive experience working remotely in a self-managed environment
- Experience with an Agile Scrum framework with the ability to work in sprints using Jira
- Ability to facilitate productive meetings and work successfully in a team-oriented environment
- Certifications in Network security Technologies – WAF, Proxy, Firewalls and CCNP are preferred
