Various global and EMEA commercial and operational management teams across our infectious disease and cardiometabolic businesses are also based in Galway, overseeing the supply of millions of rapid tests from HIV to diabetes to COVID-19, to patients in many regions across the world.Primary FunctionThe Global Supply Chain for ID, the Infectious Diseases Market Business Unit consists of Manufacturing sites in China, Korea, Japan, Jena, Germany and Scarborough and Westbrook US, centralised services in Galway and the corporate headquarters in Chicago, US. The Supply Chain Headquarters for the Global Infectious Diseases Markets (ID) is based in Galway. We are responsible for managing the Supply and Demand of Lateral Flow Diagnostic Tests for HIV, Malaria, Hepatitis C, Flu, a range of tropical diseases, and now Covid 19. We support a rapidly expanding Business unit within Abbott and collaborate closely on sales execution, product supply and human resources with the other business Units within the Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Division. In addition to liaising with Manufacturing Units in Japan, Korea, China, Germany and US, we amongst many other external Global Suppliers and we serve a Global Customer base across all continents. Our core ERP system is SAP.This role is critical to ensuring strategic and operational information, reports and metrics are available to share with others in the business as and when required. Driving and collating concise, clear data, completing detailed analysis, and reporting on achievement of targets and identify any corrective actions within supply chain area is one of the fundamental aspects of this role. Understanding and reviewing of business processes to drive operational efficiency through standardisation and automation of materials management transactions.Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support the Global supply chain function by building tools and processes to collate data from a range of sources.
  • Ability to independently data mine multiple large, complex datasets to answer specific questions. Curiosity to dig deeper and access other documentation sources to understand the data.
  • Ability to perform quantitative analysis and utilize data modelling techniques to generate insights and highlight opportunities.
  • Present data and associated business insights on Supply Chain performance to key stakeholders.
  • Develop competency through researching the latest Data Management capabilities and potential further education
  • Translate inventory strategies into executable plans and communicate these to manufacturing sites
  • Coordinate, facilitate and drive improvement in Site review meetings processes.
  • Collaborate with management teams on ID Global inventory management strategy, in alignment with the overall Supply Chain strategy; Works cross functionally to drive inventory optimization and management of on-hand raw materials and components
  • Material operations – Proactively identifies potential business issues and/or supply constraints, develops risk mitigations plans and acts as point of escalation for Material supply issues within business unit
  • Ensures accurate data reporting in particular to MRP system data and asks appropriate questions to improve reporting processes and drive meaningful discussion
  • Drives efficiency and standardisation in supply chain business processes across the sites.

Requirements

  • Primary Degree in Engineering, Business, Maths or Data Science is a prerequisite and a Master’s degree in one of these subjects is desirable
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain a distinct advantage, including SAP knowledge.
  • Advanced Excel skills with ability to work with complex data sets necessary.
  • Experience on analytical tools such as Alteryx, Power BI (preferred) or other analytical tools.
  • Ability to travel globally as required (with advance planning)
  • A clear desire to build a career in a major Global multinational organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team through college programs, part-time work or personal time activities.
