Who we are

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale.

Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, Equipment Monitoring, and Site Visibility. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.

About the role:

Samsara is seeking a Telecom Global Supply Manager to support our growing Production Procurement team. In this role, you will partner with Operations, Engineering, Product, and Customer Support teams to shape the future of our Telecom partnerships. Connectivity is an essential component of Samsara’s service offerings. As a Telecom Global Supply Manager, you will own the commercial relationships with Telecom partners, focusing on service continuity, cost and rate optimization, network operations and overall project execution. You will work cross-functionally across Samsara to ensure a world-class connectivity experience for our customers whether launching new offerings or supporting the millions of devices in the field. Ideal candidates should be analytical and curious learners with experience in IOT connectivity either at Operators or in the IOT device or OEM landscape.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US except the San Francisco Bay Area and NYC Metro Area. This position requires limited, intermittent travel (<10% of the time).

You should apply if:

  • You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact—helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, reduce emissions, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
  • You are the architect of your own career: If you put in the work, this role won’t be your last at Samsara. We set up our employees for success and have built a culture that encourages rapid career development, countless opportunities to experiment and master your craft in a hyper growth environment.
  • You’re energized by our opportunity: The vision we have to digitize large sectors of the global economy requires your full focus and best efforts to bring forth creative, ambitious ideas for our customers.
  • You want to be with the best: At Samsara, we win together, celebrate together and support each other. You will be surrounded by a high-calibre team that will encourage you to do your best.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate externally with Telecom partners on all aspects of Samsara connectivity including cost, service levels, geographic coverage, and technology roadmaps
  • Work closely with internal counterparts to deliver a world class customer experience by proactively building robust and resilient connectivity, optimizing deployments for cost and coverage, and ensuring ongoing connectivity service levels
  • Drive Samsara’s long-term connectivity strategy to guide external relationships, enable geographic and segment expansion, and qualify new technologies
  • Continuously improve Samsara’s network operations capabilities
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 5+ years of experience in Connectivity sourcing, either at the Operator or Device / OEM level
  • Familiarity with Operator SIM Management platforms
  • Solid understanding of the Telecom landscape spanning technology, commercial, vendors, coverage, network operations, network evolution and sunsets, and Global regulatory impacts
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail, prioritization, and triage of complicated issues
  • Advanced analytical skills, expertise in rate and cost analysis and leading complex negotiations
  • Ability to translate data into insights and craft executive presentations
  • Self-motivated, proactive, creative, and critical problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, ambiguous settings
  • Experience collaborating and working cross-functionally with Engineering and Product teams
  • BS minimum in a relevant field e.g. Wireless Technologies, Engineering Management, Telecom Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
