GP Assistant Farm Manager

Job Summary

Aviagen Anadolu is looking for a high-potential, qualified and eager-to-learn candidate to fit in the position of Assistant Farm Manager. Reporting to the relevant farm Manager, this position will require a focus on maintaining & improving production by monitoring the production processes, preparing reports, ensuring bio-security & animal welfare actions are in place and supporting/managing the production teams.

A position with possible farm manager potential in the future is relevant to the potential of the candidate.

Job Description

Production

  • To learn and apply bird management methods in line with Aviagen standards.
  • In line with the goals, to produce quality hatching eggs while protecting the health and welfare of birds.
  • Ensuring biosecurity and welfare at Aviagen standards and maintaining the management of facilities following SOPs.
  • To monitor feed quality and stock status and take necessary precautions.
  • To create the necessary purchase requests by tracking the stocks of farm needs.
  • To understand the working principle of farm equipment and to be able to manage it.
  • Suggesting and implementing technical methods to improve production performance.
  • Following the monitoring program and organizing the necessary samples taken.
  • Following the vaccination program and organizing the vaccinations.
  • Closely monitoring production data, ensuring accuracy, and preparing daily and weekly reports.
  • Organizing daily work under the farm manager’s direction and in line with the general workflow.
  • To be able to manage and organize farm workers in line with the work schedule.
  • To provide information flow to other departments using designated tools in line with the job description.
  • Keeping legal procedures and documentation requirements up to date.

Job Qualifications

Specific Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine or Agriculture Engineering.

  • Communication: Communicating effectively (verbally and in writing) with superiors and subordinates to ensure expectations are clear to all
  • Leadership: Providing timely guidance and support to relevant parties
  • Standardization: Creating and promoting the usage of standard materials & reports
  • Innovative Thinking: Curiosity to understand the needs of the farm and coming up with continuous improvement ideas for data analysis, reporting and production.
  • Problem-Solving: Offering recommendations to improve productivity, profitability, quality and how to operate as a wider team
  • Be proactive in identifying issues and opportunities
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in reports produced.
  • Organized and structured approach to managing workload & production teams
  • Self-motivated with the desire to learn new skills & technology
  • Language: Good command in English & fluent in Turkish
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools

People management: Blue Collar employee management

Financial management: Not required
