Job Summary:

The Bock Laboratories is currently seeking a Post Award Accountant to assist with post award grants accounting functions. This position will be responsible for managing the day to day financial activities as they relate to both the Institute for Molecular Virology and the Center for Quantitative Cell Imaging grants, including Shop-UW approvals for grant expenditures, P-card site manager, preparing invoices and working with the Associate Director and Research Administrator in maintaining post award accounting and providing projections to center PIs.

Responsibilities:
Works directly with principal investigator and research staff to budget, monitor expenditures, and reconcile financial data for sponsored programs. May directly process and/or approve accounting transactions such as cost transfers, procurement, sub award management, and financial processing related to sponsored project management. May review and approve transactions on behalf of an intermediate unit or center.

  • 45% Assists principal investigators with financial management of sponsored program budgets and directs day-to-day fiscal transactions
  • 20% Prepares and processes financial reporting and/or invoicing information
  • 20% Provides expertise and advice related to procurement and allowable charges
  • 15% Reviews financial expenditures for accuracy on sponsored grants and contracts

Education:

Preferred
Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field

Qualifications:

Prefer at least 1 year experience in post award grants accounting. Advanced skills in Excel preferred.

Work Type:

Full Time: 100%
This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location after 6 months.

Salary:

Minimum $49,700 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications
