What’s the role about?
We are looking for a Group Financial Accountant, to support with the delivery of a high quality and efficient audit in a timely manner, to provide accurate reporting submissions. Reporting into our Group Reporting Manager, you will assist and develop the wider finance team and business, ensuring that accounting standards are met for existing business and new opportunities.
Who you are
Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) with strong technical skills.
Highly proficient in using Microsoft Excel.
Experience in using Microsoft Business Central and Jet reporting are desirable.
Audit background and understanding.
IFRS 16 knowledge is also desirable.
Excellent time management skills and able to take initiative.
Good communicator and strong relationship builder to collaborate with wider teams.
What you’ll be doing
Support with monthly Group financial reporting to NEXT plc and the preparation of ad hoc analysis and requests, as well as internal group reporting deliverables.
Prepare statutory accounts in line with FRS 102 (subsidiaries) and IFRS (groups) and assist on other statutory reporting requirements, such as ESG and SECR.
Ownership of designated balance sheet accounts and the submission of monthly/quarterly reconciliations and resolving queries.
Build interim and year-end external audit deliverables and support with audit queries and requests.
Collaborate and assist the wider team in delivering high quality audit papers, whilst providing technical support to audit process.
Partner with the wider team to develop their technical knowledge.
Support with IFRS 16 implementation and other various accounting projects, as required.
Helping the team adapt following go-live of new Microsoft Business Central ERP system and prepare Jet reports.
Prepare and review audit papers for new system transition, on top of implementing and identifying process improvements.
