The ECCHR – European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights e.V. – is a non-profit and independent, internationally active human rights organization. It stands for solidarity across geographical, social and cultural borders and aims to take action through legal interventions, but also through public relations work and knowledge transfer for those affected. Based in Berlin, it maintains a worldwide network and employs around 60 people. As part of a succession plan, a third member of the executive committee is sought full-time (40 hours/week) at the earliest opportunity.
In this role, you will be responsible for the financial, operational and administrative management of the ECCHR. You will manage all of the association’s financial matters and administrative processes and, as a member of the executive committee, will play a key role in the strategic direction of the association. Specifically, you will be responsible for planning and allocating financial resources, as well as for quarterly monitoring and controlling of current income and expenses. You will support tax advisors and auditors in preparing the annual financial statements. You will also be responsible for the entire infrastructure and office management. In this context, you will carry out strategic resource planning – from finance to human resources – and ensure that business runs smoothly. At the same time, you will proactively develop processes and structures with an eye on changing conditions in order to meet future requirements. As a manager, you will inspire employees to work towards common goals and steer them towards clear results.
On the basis of a business degree or comparable qualification, you have gained extensive experience in the conscientious administration of finances and in handling private funds – ideally within a non-profit organization. In addition, you already have several years of management experience. From a professional point of view, you have in-depth expertise in finance and accounting, know-how in optimizing business processes and ensure professional administrative management. You are fluent in German; good English language skills are required. Personally, you are characterized by strategic and entrepreneurial thinking and action. You act transparently and according to plan, but at the same time you also bring a corresponding degree of pragmatism and flexibility for working in such a dynamic environment. You convince different discussion partners with your communication skills, credibility, empathy, and a confident and engaging manner.
