Job DescriptionA client of ours in the aviation industry is looking for someone to come in as Head of Information Security. As Head of Security you wil be reporting directly to the CIO and you will head the team responsible for the protection of information and cyber security, as well as the protection of infrastructure and assets from all nature of technology and data threats. You will ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of all information owned or processed by the company.Responsibilities:Act as the senior central point of contact for all IT security matters and lead all aspects of IT security, ensuring that the organization delivers agreed IT security requirements.Lead incident and vulnerability investigation, response, and remediation. For critical incidents provide central oversight and communication to leadership and relevant stakeholders.Conduct Information Security risk analysis and management, relating to both technical and non-technical contexts and both project and BAU environments. Manage identified risks in collaboration with business and functional leaders.Liaise with all relevant stakeholders in the business, including at board level regarding Cybersecurity, and with relevant external stakeholders as needed.Lead all aspects of IT security, ensuring that all areas of the IT function deliver agreed IT security requirements.Responsible for ensuring IT security audits are completed and responded to in due time as part of the strategy.Responsible for ensuring and enhancing the IT security awareness across the organisation.As key member of the senior management team, work closely with colleagues to add value to all areas of technology, business and commercial decisions and provide IT security input as required.Direct leadership and line management. To support, coach and develop all direct reports in achieving high team performance.Experience:Demonstrated capability in providing security leadership as part of a team.Proven capability of understanding risk management issues in the business context, and transmitting them in clear language to Senior Leadership.Track record of success in defining and delivering an IT security strategy across a complex organisation with a mixture of legacy and new technology and where IT security is truly mission critical.Capable technologist with a background in IT infrastructure and networks and Cyber Security architecture. Also proven experience leading / overseeing teams responsible for deploying new technology and operating that technology.Experience or understanding access control systems, penetration testing, forensic IT investigation etc.Familiarity of industry standards and methodologies, including SOC II Types I and II and ISO 9001/27001 or equivalent audit qualification would be desirable.Ability to communicate effectively and present on Information Security issues at all levels.A proven track record in managing and leading teams (including coaching, managing talent, and leading change)
