Job Description:Salary: £44,208 – £50,424 per annumGrade: FPermanent Contract37 Hours per Week

  • This job role is part of the Public Protection department which consists of Environmental Health, Trading Standards, Licensing and Corporate Safety.
  • This job role is primarily health & safety based; dealing with complaints, consultations, investigations, potential court preparation, topic inspections and compliance visits for licensing applications.
  • Experience in a recent similar role is required as is the knowledge to independently prioritise your own workload to undertake all visits and inspections.
  • Key liaison with the HSE, HM Coroners staff, Emergency Services and the Essex Health & Safety Group in addition to other local authorities and council departments
  • Minimum BSc (Hons) in Environmental Health (additional post qualification(s) in the field of H&S would be desirable) and / or a minimum of NEBOSH / IOSH level 6 Diploma in Occupational H&S.
  • Desirable CIEH Member / Chartered Status and/or Cert IOSH /CMIOSH
